Bayerwaldloipe: 150 Kilometres of Cross-Country Enjoyment

Cross country skiing from the "Arber/Osser area" straight to the "Dreisessel": Anyone who wants to tackle the whole "Bayerwaldloipe" with its 150 kilometres of trails in one go has quite a task in front of them. Of course, it can be tackled in stages – whichever you choose, you will enjoy the outdoor activity in natural surroundings.

The Bayerwaldloipe mainly follows existing cross country trails; for maximum protection of the surrounding nature, it is sometimes necessary to walk a short distance to the start of the next trail. In addition, the cross country trail can only be used in one direction – from North to South.

Beautiful ArberLand: The trail passes through unspoilt scenery, alternating between mixed woods and open areas as well as impressive distant views. The Bayerwaldloipe is identified by a Snowflake on DSV-regulation signs. Along the trail there are signposts and information boards showing the neighbouring trail networks.

Snow conditions: As the Bayerwaldloipe crosses various altitudes, mid winter (January-February) is the ideal time for a tour. But there are good, consistent snow conditions also in the other winter months. If in doubt, the tourist offices in the villages and towns can advise on conditions.
